Company Performance Metrics
Exabyte offers tape-based data storage products for archiving and data backup. The company primarily makes a full range of eight-millimeter, four-millimeter, and quarter-inch minicartridge tape drives and tape libraries, as well as data cartridges and media supplies.
Its products include tape drives, robotic tape libraries, and smaller
autoloaders designed to use its MammothTape drives or drives based on other companies' technologies. It also provides repair services.
Exabyte also provides worldwide service and support for its full line of products. These products provide reliable compact data storage for various segments of the computer industry, including mid-range systems, networks, workstations, and personal computers.
Exabyte was formed in 1985 by Juan Rodriguez, Harry Hinz, and Kelly Beavers, and a group of ex-StorageTek engineers who were interested in using consumer videotape technology for data storage.
