Company Performance Metrics
eLCie is a nationwide marketplace that connects production companies and event planners directly with freelance AV technicians. The platform addresses a fundamental problem in the AV labor industry: opacity, inefficiency, and unfair compensation structures.
Traditional labor coordination in AV relies on outdated systems — email chains,
spreadsheets, unclear fee structures, and delayed payments. eLCie replaces that with a transparent, direct marketplace. Production companies post their event details and technical positions needed. The platform surfaces smart-filtered technicians based on position, skill set, and proximity to the event — and can even facilitate travel for out-of-state talent. Technicians can also browse available events and apply directly. Either party can initiate interest, both agree to go on hold, and the client confirms and funds the position.
The company charges a single, transparent flat fee: 15% on the client side. Technicians receive exactly what they quoted — no hidden deductions. If a job is confirmed, it's funded — eliminating the cash flow anxiety that plagues the freelance AV industry.
Founder Theodore Nelson built eLCie after years coordinating labor for production companies, seeing firsthand the gaps and unfairness in how technicians and clients connected. The platform emphasizes four core values: transparency (no hidden fees or markups), respect for technicians (they control their rates and assignments), operational reliability (confirmed jobs are funded), and safety first (insurance visibility and compliance).
eLCie operates nationwide and is actively growing its technician and client base across markets.
