Efficient Translation develops machine translation software and services focused on running locally on user devices or on optimized servers. The company provides the TranslateLocally desktop application and a Chrome browser extension that execute translations on device to preserve privacy. It offers custom neural machine translation models tailored
to specific domains and language pairs, designed for low latency and efficient CPU and GPU use. Efficient Translation supplies integration services so clients can embed translation into applications such as office suites and web browsers via C++, Python, or JSON APIs. It also delivers data services to mine parallel text from the web, drawing on experience from the ParaCrawl project to support training of translation models.
