Eataly is a high-end Italian food market and mall chain that comprises of a variety of restaurants, food and beverage stations, bakeries, and food retailers. The company’s product portfolio includes packaged foods, cured meats, cheeses, meat, fish, fruits and vegetables, baked goods and pastries, soft drinks, beers, wines, and spirits. It also
operates food and beverage centers such as restaurants, café-bars, and ice-cream stands.
In 2012, Eataly opened in Rome its largest megastore, in the abandoned air terminal building near Ostiense Station. There is an Eataly in the Porto Antico area in Genova as well.
Eataly was founded in 2004 by Oscar Farinetti, an entrepreneur who was formerly involved in the consumer electronics business, and is sponsored by Slow Food.
