Delta-8 THC, also natural to the cannabis plant, is simply a less potent variation of THC. Because our Delta-8 derives from the hemp plant, it is highly gratifying and legal. The term “hemp” is used to describe cannabis that contains 0.3% or less THC. It’s what sets Diet Smoke apart from the more common (and stronger) THC, Delta-9.
Hemp and
marijuana are the same species of plant. The only difference is marijuana has very high concentrations of Delta-9 THC while hemp is legally defined as a cannabis plant that contains less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC. In 2018, the game-changing Farm Bill laid the groundwork for the explosion in popularity of CBD and Delta-8. Though a few states have banned Delta-8, most have not.
Delta-8 produces similar, yet milder, effects to “regular” THC (Delta-9), the main psychoactive compound in cannabis. With Delta-8, many people report more of a “body buzz,” and less head rush and anxiety that can sometimes come with traditional THC.
Delta-8 metabolizes in the same way that Delta-9 does in the human body, therefore there’s no way for drug tests to tell the difference between the two cannabinoids. If you’re regularly drug tested, we recommend against using Delta-8.
