deTENS is a wireless module for smartphones that enables electrostimulation therapy through four channels of gel electrodes placed on a certain part of the human body. Its stimulations are used in physiotherapy for faster rehabilitation after injury and as pain relief, while in sports they are used for faster regeneration of muscles and muscle
toning. It is also used as massage for relaxation.
The gadget communicates with a cell phone via Bluetooth and a free application on the smart device in order to provide various therapies for different purposes. The log of therapies is stored in the cloud and is sent to a physiotherapist with all the questions. On the basis of that log the physiotherapist solves the issue and prescribes new therapy that can be downloaded on the internet. Moreover, physiotherapists can virtually demonstrate on 3D human body inside application, where to put electrodes for desired effect of the treatment.
deTENS was launched by Gregor Treska, Mateja Kovac, Egidij Vencelj, and Mija Cevzar. Its operations are based in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
