Company Performance Metrics
- Arnaud Lager: CEO
Decahydron is a clean energy and climate-technology company focused on the exploration and production of naturally occurring hydrogen and the permanent mineralisation of CO₂ in ultramafic rock formations. The company develops subsurface technologies that enable low-cost, scalable hydrogen production while delivering verifiable, geological carbon
storage through in situ mineralisation.
Founded in 2022 and headquartered in the Ireland, Decahydron operates at the intersection of natural hydrogen, carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS), and subsurface engineering. Its approach targets ultramafic and ophiolitic geological formations, where natural hydrogen can accumulate and where injected CO₂ reacts with magnesium-rich minerals to form stable carbonate minerals, providing permanent and water-free carbon sequestration. The company has secured exploration and mineral rights across multiple jurisdictions in the UAE and is expanding internationally, with activities and partnerships spanning the Middle East and Europe. Decahydron works with governments, industrial emitters, and energy companies to support decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors while creating a new supply of low-carbon hydrogen.
Decahydron has raised capital from international climate-focused investors and strategic partners and collaborates with major industrial and energy companies on pilot and commercial projects. Its long-term ambition is to enable gigaton-scale permanent CO₂ storage and establish natural hydrogen as a competitive, reliable pillar of the global clean energy system.
