Compensate is a carbon offset services provider that is recognized in the voluntary carbon offset market for its high integrity and work towards driving an uplift of existing market standards. While the market in which we operate in is constantly evolving and is forecast to grow in value from €2.5bn in 2022 to €50bn in 2035 (and €800bn by 2050) as
net zero commitments are set to actualize, it is currently characterized by deserved critique over its opacity and inefficacious quality control measures that manifest themselves as a massive greenwashing problem.
Compensate has evaluated more than 170 top tier nature based carbon projects certified by leading international carbon standards, and only less than 10 % of them pass our strict science based evaluation process. To date Compensate has sold 4 million euros worth of carbon offsets from these projects. We are now building a carbon removal project pipeline of hundreds of million euros of projects which supersede existing market standards.
We believe that the best way to deliver on the ever-increasing needs of real time transparency of the quality and co-benefits of carbon offsets is by becoming a vertically integrated carbon offset platform. This will require continuing to build our reach within development and financing of only the highest quality carbon removal projects globally to serve our enterprise and SME clients, creating an actual and lasting climate impact.
