The College for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit, Michigan is designed for students interested in pursuing careers in the visual arts.
Academics at CCS are offered at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Bachelor’s degrees are granted in 11 different emphasis areas. These include career-oriented pathways such as Advertising, Art
Education, Commercial Art, Graphic Design, Interior Design and Product Design.
There are also two relatively new master’s degrees available in Design and Transportation Design.
The career services department assists students throughout their time at CCS, hosting recruitment events and job-hunting workshops, while also offering internships and job-placement assistance.
Student life includes on-campus activities as well as access to student organizations. These include clubs related to different majors as well as cultural groups.
The city of Detroit also boasts numerous cultural, arts, dining, shopping and other activities.
Admission to CCS is not only based on transcripts, standardized test scores and optional letters of recommendation. Students also submit a portfolio of their artistic work, which factors significantly in the evaluation process.
Financial aid is available to eligible students to assist with tuition, housing and other expenses.
