clipDO was working to deliver the leading clipping service for news content from the web and delivering that content to ereaders and mobile devices. clipDO’s first release is a clipping service to allow users to clip and deliver content to the Amazon Kindle. Longer term ambitions for the firm included providing a news sharing and trending service
whilst providing freelance journalists and blog owners to receive direct compensation for articles. Was shut down when Amazon created the same product inhouse.
The team developing clipDO include Managing Director Jon Slinn who developed and now chairs Rockshore Ltd, a successful provider of real time information systems to transport firms. Jon has won awards for innovation from the LDA and is an active supporter of startup business in London and Bristol where he attended Bristol University. Patrick McAndew is the firms CTO, Patrick has developed systems and service for Citrix, ACE Insurance and many regional businesses.
