rights abuses soon follow. Across the world we are seeing abuses of power by formerly democratic countries. Even the supposed great Democracies of the world are in peril. According the Economist Intelligence Unit's Democracy Index, which is considered the standard by which democracy's are measured, democracy is in full retreat around the world. Worst of all some democracies are disappearing altogether. This is not an unimportant over there event. It is happening here too.

Ever since the enlightenment we have seen the expansion of rights across the globe. The recent emancipation movements of BIPOC, female, and LGBT communities is just the latest expression of that enlightenment, long may it be so.

Throughout history the world was threatened with the retreat of democracy but we always fought back and built back better! Everytime. This time will be no different. CITIZN is how we do it!
