Founded in November 2014 by Ad and Marc Vermeer and Thérèse van Vinken., Cerescon focuses on the development, production, and marketing of an automatic asparagus harvesting machine. Cerescon is the first company in the world to successfully demonstrate the feasibility of an automatic selective asparagus harvester. Selective harvesting means that
only those asparagus are harvested, which are sufficiently large; the remaining asparagus must remain (undamaged) to be harvested a few days later.
