Brighter was founded in 2010 by Jake Winebaum and an experienced team of executives from health insurance, enterprise software, and consumer Internet backgrounds. Venture capital firms Benchmark and Mayfield back the company. The teams’ and its Board of Directors’ experience spans UnitedHealth, GE, Uber, OpenTable, and the Walt Disney Company.
