early alert systems that wait for students to reach out or faculty to submit flags, Boom proactively contacts students, extracts structured data from conversations (Tinto persistence scores, barrier classification, departure intent), and generates prioritized action plans for advisors.
The system creates proprietary data that doesn't exist in any SIS, LMS, or CRM, self-reported barriers and persistence factors from the student's own words.
Founded by Matthew West, a Licensed School Psychologist (M.S. M.A, Pepperdine) who spent 15 years in inner city schools. Every conversation flow, risk signal taxonomy, and escalation protocol in the product is based on real clinical experience with students who were about to leave.
