2013 marks BMS’ merger with industry leader Modified Polymer Components (MPC), which specializes in the design, rapid prototyping and manufacture of highly precise polymer components for medical device developers. This merger follows BMS' 2011 acquisition of medical textile manufacturer Concordia Medical and expansion of their full line of services, which runs from concept design to complete production, supply chain management and post-manufacturing sterilization and packaging, all at increased volume and on-demand scalability. Today, BMS and MPC provide a full spectrum of value-added services from medical textile engineering an manufacturing to production of customized plastic components for an ever-growing range of device applications.
BMS maintains full design and manufacturing facilities at their headquarters and second manufacturing outfit in Warwick, RI. BMS' ISO 13485 registered, purpose-built medical facilities contain advanced textile engineering and manufacturing equipment in nine separate Class 8 clean rooms for material fabrication.
BMS engages in the design, development, and manufacture of biomedical textiles for medical device manufacturers and clinical applications. It offers knitted, braided, woven, non-woven and custom structures. BMS also provides consulting and production and manufacturing services. Its products are used in orthopedics, cardiovascular, general surgery, tissue engineering, bariatric, cosmetic surgery, veterinary, implantable device, drug delivery technology and surgical instrumentation applications.
Biomedical Structures was founded in 2003 and is based in Warwick, Rhode Island.
