Already a few years earlier, he had just developed a smart tablet for machine washing. A pre-dosed tablet to avoid overdose and which is also biodegradable. For his invention, he received the Inventor Award for First Prize in 1997. Now he faced a most obvious personal problem: the stubborn wound on his foot. Necessity is the mother of invention, it
is said, and as an innovator, Jan-Olof Eriksson has often thought the other way around and turned the problems around to find smart solutions. His solution became a granulate which in contact with water forms a chemical process. When he tested himself, it happened: with the granules in a foot bath, his wounds healed in a way that stunned the research world. And that became the basic idea for the company Biocool, which started in 2012 and the principle on which all our products are based.
