BIOCEV is a joint project of six institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (Institute of Molecular Genetics, Biotechnology Institute, Institute of Microbiology, Institute of Physiology, Institute of Experimental Medicine and Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry) and two faculties of Charles University in Prague (Faculty of
Science and First Faculty of Medicine) is the realization of a science center of excellence in the fields of biotechnology and biomedicine. The main source of funding for the construction of the Center is the European Regional Development Fund, from which the funds are provided through the Operational Program Research and Development for Innovation from Priority Axis 1 - European Centers of Excellence.
