A leader in innovative education, Bennington College is one of the Northeast’s most respected small, progressive liberal arts colleges. At Benington, students may study such varied subjects as Architecture, Conflict Resolution, Environmental Studies, Literature, Playwriting, Sculpture, Social Justice and Teaching.
Unique to Bennington is the
integrative method, in which students use different areas of study to examine different themes or questions. At the graduate level Bennington offers some of the country’s most respected master’s programs, including a low-residency MFA in Creative Writing.
Since Bennington is regarded as one of the region’s more reputable schools, lectures, readings and performances by highly regarded authors and scholars are regularly conducted on campus. Other student life offerings include student concerts, dance performances and plays as well as recreational and outdoor activities.
Bennington’s admissions are determined based on various factors including grades, teacher recommendations, a personal statement, a writing sample and extracurricular activities. Submission of SAT scores is optional.
Eligible Bennington students may receive financial aid through grants, loans, work-study or scholarships.
