Belfer Management LLC is an accounting firm founded in 1951. It’s based in New York and has multiple locations, including its main office at 767 Fifth Avenue, Suite 4602, in New York City. Belfer Management offers financial planning services, primarily account auditing. It also makes investments, typically in the energy, real estate, and financial
services sectors.
Belfer Management’s board members include two members of the Belfer family, Robert Belfer and Laurence Belfer, JD. Robert Belfer is the firm’s chairman and founder, while Laurence Belfer is its chief executive officer. Additional senior members of Belfer Management include Eileen Aptman, its chief investment officer, and Jodi Ganz, JD, its chief operating officer.
Robert Belfer graduated from Columbia College in 1955 and Harvard Law School in 1958. He had a long career with Belco Oil and Gas, including a 20-year stint as president, and was appointed chairman in 1985. Robert funds many philanthropic causes, including the Neurodegeneration Consortium, which consists of the MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baylor College of Medicine, MIT, and Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Laurence Belfer is a graduate of Harvard College and Columbia Law School and a Henry Crown Fellow at The Aspen Institute. He’s also chair emeritus of 92NY, where he founded the Belfer Center for Innovation and Social Impact. In addition, Laurence serves on the board of #GivingTuesday, a global charity created by the Belfer Center. Other positions that Laurence holds include chair emeritus of the Dean’s Council at the Harvard Kennedy School and board member for the International Council of the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.
