Alara AS is a state-owned environmental services company that manages radioactive and hazardous waste throughout its lifecycle. the former Paldiski nuclear site and related repositories. It receives, analyzes and landfills solid hazardous industrial waste at a dedicated hazardous waste management centre. Alara AS offers radiation measurement and contamination surveys, decontamination field services, and decommissioning support for radiation-hazardous installations. It also provides calibration services for radiation measurement instruments, supporting compliance with regulatory and international safety standards. In addition, the company organises educational guided tours at the former Paldiski nuclear facility to explain its history, current safety measures and waste management practices.
