You came up with an app with potential As the creator of an app, you have enormous potential. You've been working on your idea for a while and it won't let you go. How cool would it be if a lot of people used your app? If it becomes a well-known app, where you can also earn money? Once
your idea is a success, the sky is the limit!
How much does it cost to have an app developed (and how do you get that)? Now the question is: how do you get there? You may have already looked up app prices or even spoken to a developer. Then you know that having your app made is not cheap and costs more than € 20,000 (as long as you don't want to have it messed up by a student or developer from far away). So how are you going to pay for that? You don't just get a loan or investor. And even if you do get that money, how are you going to earn it back? How do you know if your idea will work? Do you have to do everything yourself?
Something went wrong with this inventor... I sometimes speak to people who have tried it all by themselves. Like a man who told me in 2016 that he would like to discover it for himself. He borrowed €30,000 to have an app made. He struggled with this for 3 years, went through a deep valley and encountered one obstacle after another. In 2019 he emails me; it didn't work out anyway. He was completely exhausted and had to stop. All his money and energy were in the app and he couldn't afford anything for 3 years. Now the repayment of the loan started: at least another 3 years of trying to figure it out (I think he has just finished repaying!). And the worst part was: completely for nothing. Because his app never got off the ground.
