The foundation provides a connecting layer that translates global AI standards and regulations into practical testing criteria, evaluation guidelines, and component
typologies. Its work is organized into requirements and guidance and assessment enablement layers that define what is required and how it is evaluated. Appia Foundation supports evidence pass-through along the AI value chain so parties can reuse conformity evidence from upstream providers while remaining accountable for their own roles. It operates as an openly governed collaboration under the Linux Foundation’s Joint Development Foundation framework, engaging industry, government, and policy stakeholders on AI conformity infrastructure.
