Company Performance Metrics
The Anxiety Disorders Association of British Columbia (AnxietyBC™) is a nonprofit organization established in the early spring of 1999 by a group of concerned consumers, family members, and professionals, who work to increase awareness about anxiety disorders; promote education of the general public, affected persons, and health care providers; and
increase access to evidence-based resources and treatments. In keeping with their mission, AnxietyBC™ led a ground-breaking effort towards describing a comprehensive strategy in the management of anxiety disorders - the Provincial Anxiety Disorders Strategy in the fall of 2001. They are a member of HeretoHelp, a project of the BC Partners for Mental Health and Addictions Information and one of seven leading mental health and addictions non-profit agencies in British Columbia.
AnxietyBC™ is a Canadian leader in developing online, self-help, and evidence-based resources on anxiety and anxiety disorders. They have produced over 50 videos on YouTube and actively promote dialogue and exchange information on anxiety and anxiety disorders via their Facebook page. In 2013, they launched the Mindshift app which helps youth and young adults manage anxiety, using step-by-step strategies. Tens of thousands of consumers worldwide have benefited from this app. They also promote understanding about anxiety and anxiety disorders through general information sessions, professional seminars, and workshops, offered throughout the year.
Their newsletter, STRIDES, which is published twice a year highlights their activities, shares compelling personal stories, and features information on a specific anxiety disorder in each issue. They also contribute to the development of information related to mental health and addiction issues with the BC Partners. The BC Partners' quarterly journal, Visions, is distributed to all AnxietyBC™ newsletter members.
BC Partners' work is funded by BC Mental Health and Addiction Services, an agency of the Provincial Health Services Authority. AnxietyBC also funds programs and services through donations and grants. They are very grateful to all their supporters.
