Annotate.net is an information navigation company that develops technologies to bring relevance and efficiency to the web experience. The Annotate Detector, Version 1.0 released in December of 1999, is a downloadable browser companion, which dynamically enhances and simplifies web navigation by delivering at the moment, contextual content to the
end user. From the best names on the web, including Time Inc., Rolling Stone, CNET, Excite, USAToday, Merrill Lynch, and many others.
Annotate.net is launching Version 2.0 in December of 2000, offering contextual content and commerce with a new merchant channel, additional distibution deals, a new user interface, and a new auto-classification technology that will allow for broader coverage throughout the web. Additionally, Annotate.net will use this technology to assist digital marketers, advertising networks, web publishers, ISPs, etc; with precision targeting. With Annotate technology, digital marketers will now be able to do behavior-based targeting in real-time.
Incubated within Edwin Schlossberg, Inc. (ESI), a multi-disciplinary design firm that specializes in interactive media and entertainment, Annotate.net receives funding from Millennium Technology Ventures, Merrill Lynch, and prominent Silicon Alley investors, including Kevin O'Connor, Chairman of DoubleClick and Eric Gleacher, CEO of Gleacher & Co.
