Amma Canada operates as a volunteer-run charitable organization inspired by the humanitarian work of Mata Amritanandamayi. The charity focuses on supporting people in need through food aid, clothing donations, educational bursaries, and community outreach. It runs soup kitchens in multiple cities in partnership with local organizations and donates
naturally grown vegetables, orchard fruit, and honey from its farm and orchard to food banks and meal programs. Amma Canada funds scholarships for disadvantaged youth in Canada and women students in Haiti and supports daycare services linked to higher education programs. The organization also coordinates holiday gift and food card initiatives for families in need, music therapy and social activities for long-term care residents, and tree-planting and environmental projects. In addition, volunteers provide meditation programs and emotional support in correctional facilities.
