AFCEA International is a non-profit organization that serves its members by providing a forum for the ethical exchange of information. It is dedicated to increasing knowledge through the exploration of issues relevant to its members in information technology, communications, and electronics for the defense, homeland security, and intelligence
communities.
AFCEA International was established from the U.S. Veterans Signal Association and the American Signal Corps Association with the goal of promoting communication, dialogue, and an open and ethical exchange of information between the public and private sectors.
The organization serves more than 30,000 individual members and 1,600 corporate members, located around the world, representing the communities such as active duty and reserve military and national guards; federal, state, and local government; government contractors; small business; academia; cyber, IT, security, critical infrastructure; communications; intelligence; homeland security; financial institutions; and health IT.
AFCEA International was founded in 1946 by a group of communicators led by David Sarnoff. It is headquartered in Fairfax, V.A.
