Accelerate Auto is a not-for-profit coalition focused on increasing representation of Black talent across Canada’s automotive industry. The organization brings together professionals and allies from manufacturers, dealerships, suppliers, and industry associations to address systemic barriers affecting Black workers. It delivers programs centered on
awareness, community-building, professional development, and mentorship for students, early-career professionals, and experienced workers. Key initiatives include structured mentorship, wage-subsidy support for employers hiring Black youth, recognition programs for Black automotive professionals, and collaborative education initiatives with post-secondary partners. Accelerate Auto also convenes industry stakeholders for research, dialogue, and events that highlight career pathways and workforce gaps in automotive. Through these services, it supports more equitable access to careers and advancement across the broader automotive ecosystem.
