Company Performance Metrics
Accelera is the world’s first all-day wearable device with active stimulation designed to re-activate neural pathways to improve balance, enhance mobility, improve sports performance and prevent falls. The Company is revenue stage and seeks to scale in the general wellness and long-term care markets as an FDA General Wellness designated device. In
the longer term an FDA Class II device will be developed to improve mobility for patients suffering neurological diseases.
Approximately 30% of adults aged 65 and older experience some form of balance disorder. These balance issues lead to the prevalence of falls (c. 24% according to one study). Until now, there was no effective means to prevent falls. Falls are the leading cause of injury, reduced quality of life, and death for adults ages 65 years and older.
The device is designed to improve ease of mobility, speed of mobility, and accuracy of movement3, by amplifying the natural sensory signals of the body. Accelera’s trade-marked Proprio device, has been shown to enhance these signals and improve mobility, independence and freedom that only a wearable can provide. Accelera, using technology developed by Harvard and the Wyss Institute, is backed by more than two decades of research which supports body awareness, sensory feedback, and knowing where you are in space for better balance and mobility.
