My name is Derek White and I’m a serial entrepreneur with more than 30 years of B2B leadership experience. Over my career, I have founded and scaled multiple companies, including ATTOM (formerly RealtyTrac), which grew to become the world's third-largest real estate data company by 2007. I was instrumental in creating business relationships
with some of the largest companies at the time, including Yahoo Real Estate and Dataquick Information Systems. By 2003, the Wall Street Journal, CNBC, the United States Congress, and many other new outlets were using RealtyTrac’s real estate forecasts.
Today, I serve as Founding Partner and CEO of The Tech Loop in Ponte Vedra, Florida. The companies I helped build as a founder or senior executive have collectively employed more than 200 people while serving critical needs across the automotive and real estate industries. Throughout my career, I have led three successful company exits with a combined value of approximately $300 million, while balancing the rewards of entrepreneurship with raising and putting my two daughters through college.
Raised outside Cincinnati, Ohio by a hardworking single mother, I learned early the value of independence, discipline, and resourcefulness. As an only child, I spent countless hours building models, reading comic books, and developing the curiosity and creativity that would later fuel my entrepreneurial journey. Entrepreneurship has been my life's work—identifying real-world problems, creating "painkiller" solutions that customers genuinely need, and bringing those products successfully to market. Having witnessed the emergence of the commercial Internet in 1994, I recognized the same transformational signals with Artificial Intelligence in 2024.
The opportunity behind The Tech Loop became clear while speaking at an automotive conference, where dealers overwhelmingly embraced the vision of an interconnected ecosystem for talent acquisition, inventory sourcing, vendor intelligence, and AI governance—leading to immediate pilot commitments from two major dealer groups. The experience reinforced what I learned three decades ago: when industries face disruptive change, connected communities become powerful catalysts for innovation, collaboration, and growth. The Tech Loop was built to help businesses navigate that transformation and capitalize on the opportunities AI creates.
