Ward is a partner in our New York office. Ward’s practice focuses on representing private and public emerging growth companies as well as representing a number of the nation’s leading venture funds and hedge funds in their investment transactions in public and private companies throughout the world.
Ward has represented companies and investors
in numerous acquisition transactions, including leveraged buy-outs and other M&A transactions involving the sale of companies to large, publicly traded buyers. Additionally, he has represented investors in many transactions in emerging markets such as Brazil, Russia, India, China, Turkey, the Middle East and Eastern and Western Europe. Ward works with a diverse range of companies, including companies in the following areas: new media, telecommunications software and services (wired and wireless); semiconductors and optical components; alternative energy; software; business and consulting services; nanotechnology; and life sciences.
Ward received an A.B. in Social Theory, magna cum laude, from Haverford College; was a Fulbright Scholar at the J. W. v. Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany; pursued doctoral studies at the University of California at Berkeley; and received a J.D. from Stanford University. Before joining Gunderson Dettmer, Ward worked in the New York, Frankfurt and Seoul offices of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton. He helped found the New York office of Gunderson Dettmer.
