As Senior Lead Scientist at Seven Bridges, Wan-Ping oversees the company’s development of innovative, cloud-based tools for next-generation sequencing (NGS) analysis. She is an active member of the 1,000 Genomes Project, and her multidisciplinary training spans bioinformatics, electrical engineering and computer science.
Before joining Seven
Bridges, Wan-Ping was a postdoctoral and senior research associate at Boston College, where she worked on projects focused on NGS analysis, including MOSAIK, SCISSORS, Tangram and SSW.
She was previously a visiting scholar at Carnegie Mellon University. She earned her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University where she received the school’s outstanding research award. Wan-Ping’s research focuses on the development of bioinformatics software and discovery of human genomic variation. Her current project is to develop a graph-based reference genome representing large numbers of complete genomes.
