Wei Chen is currently Chief Scientist of China Mobile Research Institute, where he leads the research on Internet-of-Things (IoT) at China Mobile. The IoT research activities currently focus on machine intelligence, edge computing, C-V2X, and smart homes. Most recently, such IoT research led by Chen has produced an elderly-care system currently in
trial in three cities, as well as several LTE-V2X prototype devices and V2X computing prototype platform used in conjunction for the 2018 city-scale LTE-V2X trial in Wuxi, among others.
