In October 2015, Vas Nair was named Chief Human Resource Officer of Alcoa, after joining Alcoa as Chief Talent Officer in March 2015. From 2010 to 2015, she was Vice President, Global Learning & Talent Development at Estee Lauder Companies. Before joining Estee Lauder, she served as VP and Chief Learning Officer at Schering Plough.

‘s 18 years of HR experience has been in the specialty areas of performance and talent management; competency based learning solutions; leading people development and change efforts during mergers and acquisitions. Having lived and worked in Asia, Australia and now the US, She has a passion for creating global programs that add value to the 'people' strategy.
She started her career in Sydney, Australia, where she moved into regional and global roles of increasing responsibility with companies such as the ANZ Bank, Prudential, Pharmacia and Schering Plough Corporation.
She holds an MBA in strategic human resource management from the University of New England, Australia, and a Bachelor of Commerce from Wollongong University, Australia. She is fluent in 3 Asian languages.
In 2005, she received the YWCA’s Tribute to Women and Industry Award and have been a board member of the American Red Cross, (Colonial Chapter New Jersey) since 2008. In May 2014, she was featured in the International Leadership Magazine.
