Tom Lathrop is a Director focused on opportunities in disruptive non-volatile memory, advanced packaging, general fab equipment and waste stream management of fab chemistries. Tom has completed investments in Anobit (Israel): acquired by Apple, SandForce (USA): acquired by LSI, Nanosys (USA), Neosem (Korea), and underwrote a secondary public
offering in Micronics Laser Systems (Sweden). Tom is the board observer for Ovonyx (USA), a portfolio company with fundamental IP for Phase Change Memory, a board member of the Sacramento Area Regional Technology Alliance and co-chair of its start-up mentoring program. Tom joined Intel in 1988 and has held multiple positions in finance, marketing and business development before joining Intel Capital in 2007. Tom was the controller for a $2B P&L during which time he founded an internal start up providing end user leasing products for Intel's channel partners (VARs). Prior to Intel, Tom worked for McDonnell Douglas supporting shuttle operations for NASA. Tom previously served on the board of directors and the head of the marketing committee of Golden Hills School, a private nonprofit pre-k through 8 school in the Sacramento area. Tom has a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from Simon School of Business - University of Rochester in New York.
