After completing an Honours degree in manufacturing engineering at the University of Liverpool, he undertook a Government funded Knowledge Transfer Partnership to improve production planning and supply chain management at an aerospace precision machining SME whilst studying for a PhD in supply chain collaboration systems. Tom worked on projects
with Airbus UK and Westland Helicopters to prototype proof of concept supply chain collaboration platforms.
Tom established an aerospace supply chain management company in 2003 and acquired an aerospace surface treatment company in 2005. After trebling the businesses in the first two years Tom established companies in Poland and India to offer surface treatments to the emerging aerospace supply chain in Eastern Europe and Asia.
Tom won UK Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2006 and won the UK Chambers of Commerce Best New Business in 2007.
