Suresh Nanda was born on 1 June 1941 (age 78), in Karachi, British India (now in Pakistan). He attended St. Columba's School in Delhi and then went on to continue with defence practices at the National Defence Academy. Mr. Suresh Nanda joined the Indian armed forces following the footsteps of his father Admiral Sardarilal Mathradas Nanda. A
former Lieutenant Commander of the Indian Navy, Suresh Nanda later created a business empire with interests in varied sectors including the hotel industry, software solutions and a host of other businesses. He is currently the chairman of Claridges Group of Hotels, a luxury Indian chain of hotels.
