Steve Jurek joined the GNP Company (then called Gold’n Plump Poultry) in 1977. During his tenure, he has worked with teams throughout the company and held the positions of Controller (1981); VP of Finance and Administration, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary/Treasurer (1988); and Executive VP of Operations and Administration (1997)
responsible for leading the Operations and Administration teams of GNP Company and serving as the Secretary/Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer. He became President in November 2014—replacing the retiring CEO, Mike Helgeson (3rd generation leader and CEO since 1993). He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Metropolitan State University, St. Paul, MN and a Masters of Business Administration with a finance emphasis from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. Jurek is a Certified Management Accountant and board member of the Midwest Poultry Consortium, Minnesota Center for Fiscal Excellence and Boy Scouts of America. He began his career in accounting at Fingerhut Corporation in Minnetonka, MN.
