As executive director of the Coalition Against Major Diseases, Dr. Stephen Arneric leads a consortium of stakeholders (academia, pharma, regulators, patient advocacy groups and government agencies) focused on accelerating innovative treatments for Alzheimer’s disease. The coalition is a program of the Critical Path Institute, which Arneric joined
in 2015.
A research professor of medicine at the University of Arizona, Arneric has held senior management positions at Neuromed Pharmaceuticals, Eli Lilly, Pfizer, Pharmacia, DuPont Pharmaceuticals and Abbott. He has leadership and scientific expertise in the areas of neurology, pain and psychiatry, and his teams have delivered more than 30 drug candidates into development. With a doctorate in pharmacology from the University of Iowa and post-doctoral training at Cornell Medical College, Arneric has published more than 150 peer-reviewed articles and 200 abstracts, and is the co-inventor listed on 15 patents.
