Stein Janssen is the Chief Operating Officer at Poki, the world’s leading browser-based games website with over 100 million monthly players and more than a billion gameplays each month. With over 15 years of experience across gaming, advertising, and media, he oversees all company operations and focuses on the internal foundations and external
partnerships that drive growth in accessible online gaming.
Since joining Poki in 2017, Stein has played a central role in scaling the platform into a global destination for free online games, contributing to industry recognition including the Webby Award and Red Dot Design Award. He has been instrumental in translating long-term strategy into organisational alignment, shaping Poki’s external positioning as a curated platform for high-quality, instant-play games, and leading the development of BrandPlay™, Poki’s native advertising format that integrates brands directly into play.
Earlier in his career, Stein held senior marketing and strategy roles in creative agencies and retail companies. He earned an MBA from SDA Bocconi in Milan before joining Poki. He also served as Vice Chair of the Supervisory Board at Schouwburg Amstelveen, a Dutch theatre that connects creators, audiences, and partners. Passionate about play as a driver of creativity and learning, he is committed to building experiences that bring people together and inspire curiosity.
