Stefanie is the General Counsel & Chief of Staff at DemystData. In this role, she heads the legal and compliance teams and oversees all legal matters across the four different regions where the company operates. Prior to joining DemystData, Stefanie was a Senior Associate in the Business Finance & Restructuring Group at the international
law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where she represented global corporations across industries in complex domestic and cross-border commercial transactions. She is a regular conference speaker on issues related to data privacy and security and a member of TechGC, an organization for general counsels of leading venture capital firms and venture-backed companies. In parallel, Stefanie has also been providing continuous pro-bono services to incarcerated mothers on Rikers Island and advised unaccompanied minors in their immigration proceedings through the non-profit organization Kids in Need of Defense (KIND). Stefanie is currently serving as the President of the Board of Directors for a Philippines-based non-profit organization, Roots of Health, that provides maternal and reproductive healthcare to families in Palawan. Stefanie has a B.A, cum laude, from Middlebury College in French and Political Science, with a minor in German, and spent time studying abroad at L’Université de Paris, La Sorbonne, in Paris and the Freie Universität in Berlin. She received her law degree from St. John’s University School of Law.
