Stavya considers himself a technopreneur. Having studied and worked in fields spanning engineering, data sciences, web-app development, robotics, and entrepreneurship over the past 7 years, he brings to the table a viewpoint shaped from an eclectic set of domains and ideas.
Stavya's journey into entrepreneurship started during his days as a
data scientist in 2017. Having felt a certain monotony in his work he began nurturing his passion for food and dwelled in the FMCG space by setting up an in-house kitchen for sugarless jams and toppings. For months, he worked on his day job generating ML models for clients like Estee Lauder, Walmart.com, and Amway. While at night he moonlighted as the main chef, preparing bottles and bottles of Jam only to sell them in exhibitions, on restaurant counters, and through his own e-commerce website. Having continued this for over a year, he realized he no longer enjoyed making jam as he once used to and decided to shift his focus back to technology-based products. As a result, he opted to dwell in AI and Robotics to advance his knowledge in technology at TU Delft in 2019.
During his Master, Stavya already established a profitable bootstrapped business that has successfully utilized technology to generate value for his customers and earned him thousands of dollars in revenue in the student rental space. Having little to no knowledge of the domain in 2021, he believes that quick and frugal experimentation paved the way for gaining valuable knowledge about the industry as well as allowing him to network with key players in the domain. His experience with his business has allowed him to understand the importance of interfacing human-centric design and purpose in everything he does.
Currently, Stavya works on both Lanced and Roombae with Lanced being his full-time job and Roombae being his moonlighting effort.
