Spike Jonze is an Academy Award-winning filmmaker and longtime partner at Vice Media, where he has served as creative director since 2006, when he joined to help create the online video and documentary division. At Viceland, Jonze is working with talent inside the company and around the world to create slates of programming that reflect the
network’s core identity: Curiosity, authenticity and point of view. The writer and director of the films Her (for which he won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay), Where the Wild Things Are, Adaptation and Being John Malkovich, his work ranges from making a short documentary portrait of Vice President Al Gore in the 2000 election to acting in David O. Russell’s Gulf War film Three Kings. He remains a frequent collaborator with creative visionaries ranging from Bjork and the Beastie Boys to director Michel Gondry and Kanye West.
