Scott Vicary joined GEF in 2000, he and has primary responsibility for GEF’s investment program in Africa, Central and Eastern Europe.
Prior to joining GEF, Mr. Vicary worked for World Power Technologies’ power engineering development subsidiary, where he concluded a range of power and energy efficiency deals in Eastern Europe. He served at the
World Bank from 1992–1996 as a Financial Analyst with the Energy and Infrastructure Division where he carried out analysis on more than $200 million of East European project loans. Prior to the World Bank, he worked from 1990–1992 as an East European Equity Analyst for James Capel, a U.K. broker and investment bank, where his work included financial analysis on some of the first privatization deals in Central Europe.
Mr. Vicary, a CFA Charterholder, has a BA, summa cum laude, in Russian and Soviet Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master (M.Phil) in Soviet and East European Economics and Politics from Oxford University. Mr. Vicary speaks proficient Russian.
