Sam moved to Nashville, TN from Green Bay Wisconsin to pursue a career in music. After development deals with both Dreamworks and RCA records Sam teamed up with Ruby Amanfu to form the critically acclaimed duo “Sam & Ruby.” They recorded one album under the Warner Music umbrella.
Sam used the momentum and success of “Sam & Ruby” to
launch an independent music publishing company, Artist Revolution. Funded by a small group of investors from his hometown, Artist Revolution was Sam’s first music business venture. 4 years later it became the first and only publishing company to have its first commercially released single become country music’s biggest hit of all time. The song “Cruise” recorded by Florida Georgia Line and remixed by Nelly became the longest running #1 song in country music history. It also was the most downloaded song of all time in the Country music genre.
In the summer of 2014 Sam met with his friend and cofounder Matt Wilder to dream up the idea which has now become Remix Hits. In January 2015, Remix hits was selected as 1 of 8 companies to participate in the first music technology accelerator in the world Project Music. Project Music helped give their idea wings and Remix hits went on to be selected for a second stage accelerator through LaunchTN called The TENN. Remix hits is in a position to impact the entire music industry and bring much needed revenue and new opportunity to a struggling music ecosystem, while embracing the fastest growing genre and massive remix culture that exists today.
