Ros Wilson has worked in education for over fifty years, twenty-seven of which were in the classroom. She has been a Local Authority Adviser for Curriculum and Assessment, an Ofsted Inspector (active 12 years), an AST Assessor, a Primary Strategy Manager and Head of a large primary unit. Ros has wide experience in working with children with special
needs, including creating a new special needs unit, and also in working with pupils for whom English is an additional language. She has a Master's Degree in Primary Education, specialised in assessment. Ros is primarily known for her work in raising the standard of children's writing in primary schools, predominantly through her programme, ‘Big Writing', which has been introduced to schools in over fifty countries around the world. Ros, herself has spoken in over thirty countries. She is widely known in primary education as a witty and well researched speaker on a wide range of issues around the importance of talk, children's writing, inspirational teaching, inspirational curriculum design and instilling motivation in education. Ros is proud to be an Associate Member of the Chartered College of Teaching.
