Roman Mebert joined the management of Cashare in autumn 2015. He is entrusted with the role of CFO and Head Risk Management.
He began his professional career at UBS at the Corporate Desk Latin America, first in Zurich and then in New York. Other roles in project and leverage finance rounded up his 8-year engagement at UBS. Thereafter he joined
ABB Financial Services as Senior Credit Officer where he was responsible for the risk assessment and monitoring of all financed infrastructure projects worldwide. With the partial sale of ABB’s finance arm, he accepted a reassignment as Senior Originator at GE Structured Finance. After establishing that business, Mr. Mebert founded with colleagues in 2004 a finance boutique for Caterpillar Inc, providing financing for infrastructure and mining projects in the Emerging Markets. In this role, he was responsible for the strategic direction, risk & portfolio management and operation. After 7 years and funded projects of $1.7 billion, he moved to the Australian Bank Macquarie to build the mining equipment finance business. After a four-year engagement, he was inspired by the business model of Lending Club and thus came inevitably across the business of Cashare. Roman Mebert studied political science at the University of St.Gallen.
