I am fascinated by cities and great places, finding inspiration from the form, energy and diversity that downtowns offer. Looking to build on solid development and planning principles, one of my key motivating themes is to avoid the “it’s always been done this way” mindset.
As a partner and the director of community planning, I lead a talented
staff of community planners who are eager to solve problems and develop new ideas to make communities better. As a team, our goal is to help municipalities create plans and ordinances that are unique and reflective of local community character and policies. We understand and have experience with a full range of communities, from rural and small town to urban.
Outside the office, I am devoted to my family, photography and fitness. I’ve published eight city photography books and am the principal photographer for an upcoming Detroit history book. In my spare time, I run in half marathons and travel.
