Roberto Pilotto has spent all his career in private equity, both as a direct investor and Limited Partner.
He is the founder of The Blue Rider Ltd, a personal vehicle based in London that he set up for advisory and investment in the PE industry.
In first quarter 2017 he left Mubadala Capital, the Asset Management unit of Mubadala Investment
Company, a Sovereign Fund based in Abu Dhabi (UAE), where for two years he was a senior member of the private equity team. At Mubadala, he has been investing in and managing the Private Equity Funds portfolio globally, with special focus on identifying selected promising relationships in Europe with potential for co-investment.
He is the former Founder and Head of PPM Managers (now M&G PFI), the London-based Private Equity Funds investment unit of M&G/Prudential plc, where he led and developed the € 1.6 billion investment operations, During his over 9 years tenure at PPM, he reviewed over 1,000 Funds and built a portfolio of 32 top performing managers, with strong focus on mid-market managers in Europe, Asia and Emerging Markets.Prior to joining PPM in 2002, Roberto was based, for five years, at theEuropean Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London where he was instrumental to the expansion of the successful US$ 1.5 billion private equity funds Program in Russia and Central and Eastern Europe.
At the beginning of his career he was for 7 years a growth capital investment executive in Italy with Friulia.He holds an MBA from SDA Bocconi in Milan (Italy), and is fluent in 5 languages.
