Robert H. Schiestl earned his PhD in biology at the University of Vienna in the Department of Cancer Research in 1983. After several postdoctoral fellowships, from 1991 to 2001, Schiestl was assistant and the associate professor at the Harvard School of Public Health and, since 2001, he has been a professor at UCLA.
From 2008 to 2011, he was
also Brainpower Austria Guest Professor in the Department of Cancer Research at the Medical University of Vienna, where he led a funded research group. He has a knack for novel applied discoveries.
He has more than 180 publications, five press releases, 10 patents, and four start up companies: RadMit Inc, and Microbio Pharma, Inc. are located in Los Angeles, and RadMit, GmbH is located in Austria.
