Robert started his career as a Runner, worked his way up to account director, switched to copywriting and ended up as a creative director at Gold Greenlees Trott in 1994. Along the way he made some of the most iconic work of the 90s, including spots for John Smith’s and SuperNoodle. He started Mother around a kitchen table in 1996. The rest is
history. By remaining independent, Robert and founding partners Mark Waites, Andy Medd and Matt Clark have ensured Mother’s position as one of the world’s most respected creative companies. Today, Mother is a family of 500 people, with offices in London, New York, Los Angeles and Shanghai. Mother celebrated its 23rd birthday in January 2020.
